Foundation Goals |
The goals of the National Infantry Foundation are to:
 |
Educate
To educate the American public and future
generations on the role of the Infantry in safeguarding the
legacy of heroism left to them by previous generations, explaining
what the Infantry is doing for them now, and how the Infantry
of the future is being defined. |
|

|
Honor
To honor Infantrymen, from officers
to enlisted men, past present and future, and units of Infantry,
active or disbanded, by telling their stories of valor and
sacrifice, sharing the memorabilia they have collected and
promoting the freedoms they have fought to protect. |
|
|
 |
Preserve
To preserve the Infantry’s history
by collecting artifacts associated with it, restoring, and
protecting those artifacts to ensure their long life, and
exhibiting and interpreting those artifacts to recreate the
Infantry experience for both Infantrymen and civilians. |
To accomplish these goals the National Infantry Foundation is committed
to design, build, and maintain a National Infantry Museum that will
allow all Americans to share in the Infantry experience, past, present,
and future. Through this effort the American people will come to
identify more closely with the Infantry, see it as their own, enjoy
learning about it, and help preserve its legacy.
Far from glorifying war, the National Infantry Museum will teach
the lesson that freedom is not free and that its true cost is measured
in terms of human lives and sacrifice. It will demonstrate that
one of the obligations of those who enjoy liberty is to help guarantee
it for others. Our willingness as a nation to meet this obligation
is verified daily by United States Army Infantrymen, in harm’s
way, around the world.
