The Dogtags of Sam Lombardo. |
The current museum has a collection of artifacts
that is the envy of any military museum. You'll find everything
from a 16th century Spanish cannon to the nation's smallest atomic
weapon, the Davy Crockett, from Stars and Stripes handmade in the
field to a Chinese-made handkerchief taken from a prisoner of war.
You’ll see bullet-riddled gear that reminds the soldier of
his close call with death, the letters from homesick sons and lovers
and the pictures that capture the fear and terror of war in a way
words can never do.
The new museum will allow us to expand that collection.
When you decide to donate an artifact, you are honoring your loved
one in a way that can’t be matched. We hope you’ll consider
making such a gift to the museum.
We are particularly interested in:
- Photos
- Letters
- Uniforms
- Orders
- Medals and citations
- Maps
- Diaries
- Flags
- Weapons
